How can we know what is or is not morally acceptable. What is the basis for morals is there an absolute standard for what is right and wrong.

Well, I can say that even without an absolute basis for morality, it seems wrong to me to not use your own sign in name. Perhaps if you sign in and receive your own account you would have more luck.

There is no absolute standard for what is right and wrong, but the basis of morality is a combination of emotion and reason. We have the general moral tendencies we have because of the feelings evolution has shaped us to have.

So if my reason and emotional feelings that I have evolved with tell me that murder is right then that is a good thing. What happens when my morals differ from yours?

Maybe you are unreasonable and lack emotional empathy, because you think murder is wrong! Who is to say that you are right and I am wrong? You cannot say that I lack emotional empathy because then you are applying your moral absolutes to my free thought that is a violation of my own morals.
