Default Scigirl's arch-nemesis

Perhaps this is what scigirl is like in that 'mirror-universe' like in that Star Trek episode.

I give the good sci-girl 3 to 1 odds in mental combat. And, she's better looking too!

She just needs a goatee, and I'd believe it.

Regrettably Jerome Bixby died before he could write this episode.

(Bixby wrote the Trek episode in question as well as the classic short story "It's a Good Life" which latter was made into a Twilight Zone episode staring Bill Mumy.)

Oh well... I supose Harlan Ellison will be available right after he publishes Final Dangerous Visions. ;-)

Gee , were the problems that the good doctor is busy combating very prevalent before christianity came to Australia?

And of course she and her cohorts are busy spending good money trying to build a gospel ministry instead of trying to treat the causes of the problems. *sigh* I guess she wants to be Australia's Mother Theresa.

Shrug. Her attitude and motivation (that all her abilities and good works are due to God, and that "atheistic and evolutionary" attitudes are responsible for all the problems) is repugnant, and there may be too much preaching going on, but essentially she's a community doctor doing some good work. I don't think she's comparable to Mother Teresa. Anyway, she's probably done more practical good for the world (despite the downside) in her short life than her father ever will.

Some parts of the AiG article that pissed me off or made me laugh....

Quote:
Lara's husband, Ron Gillespie (as is common in Australian medical circles, Lara keeps her maiden name for professional use)...
Hahaha. Carl must be mortified that his daughter has not Biblically submitted to her husband. What a bizarre piece of excuse-making! Of course, everyone knows that women keeping their maiden name after marriage is common in the medical profession in Australia, but not in any other walk of life anywhere else in the world....

Quote:
The paper did not print any of Lara's comments where she was too overtly Christian, including crediting all her opportunities and abilities to God. She rejects evolutionary notions of the descent of man...
Perhaps the newspaper didn't want to make her look bad...

Quote:
In the accompanying article on fetal alcohol syndrome, Lara's pro-life, Biblical views were clearly seen when she described the child inside the womb as the most vulnerable person in society.
Atheist baby murderers, on the other hand, care nothing for the habits of pregnant women and how they might harm an unborn child.

Quote:
Strongly supportive of new community measures to clamp down on alcohol, she says in the article that she hopes that these will not be sidetracked by arguments about people's 'right to drink'...
Perhaps she could cite all those atheist scumbags who argue for the "right to drink".

'I remember when my Dad started Creation magazine in our sunroom in South Australia...
Sigh. I hate being reminded of where Weiland came from...

Hmmm...perhaps I shouldn't mention that one of the areas of my research happens to be ethanol teratogenesis and amelioration of alcohol-induced malformations, me being an atheist and all.

Yea, pz, but only because you're trying to work out how to increase the incidence....

Aack!

Well I'm in a secular medical school, and every day we learn how to use evolutionary theory and alcohol to hurt people!

Hmm, on a related note, I wonder if the hardy weinberg theory would make more sense if I was drunk...

How to hurt people with evolutionary theory: Hit them with SJ Goulds structure, something I have frequently wanted to do.
