If God Existed
Well, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. So let's get to it.
Here's a hypothetical scenario for everyone, targeted mainly at atheists(I have tried it on theists, but they don't usually wanna play). So the scenario is simple; hypothetically, how would your life be different if tomorrow you woke up and knew the Xian god was real(really this scenario could work within any framework that supports a heaven/hell concept, though I'll stick with the xian god as most everyone here is rather well informed about this particular set of beliefs). The scenario really is broken down into two parts; what about your life would change(i.e. would you stop having sex outside marriage) and would you worship God, so as to get into heaven. Here's how I do. As an atheist, if tomorrow I woke up and the xian god was real, very little in my life would change. I would not change my sinful habits, and I would not go to church trying to get into heaven. Two reasons why. First, I do not respect the xian god, or any god that made this earth for that matter, there's too much wrong with this planet to respect anyone who purposefully designed it. Second, I'm not much of a joiner. In fact, I generally stay away from any club that would have me for a member. If god wants me in heaven, then I don't really want to be there. Well, that's me. So what does everyone else think. Remember, how you know god is real is unimportant, it's hypothetical. And if any theists want to play, just supstitute "finding out god is real" for "finding out god isn't real." Well, have fun. |

(i.e. would you stop having sex outside marriage)
That's a bit like the loaded question "Have you stopped beating your wife?" As to the game, I don't believe I would change. I used to believe, and I don't really behave any differently now than when I did, other than not going to church and occasionally "persecuting" xians around here. |

Mageth - Sorry, that was meant as an example. Sex outside marriage is one of those things that is wrong for dubious reasons at best in our society, yet the Xians are against it. Feel free to substitue an of your own currently heathen actions for it.

If I woke up tomorrow knowing that Joe Hoevah was for real.... I think I'd be one scared monkey. Job tells us that he'll fuck with you if you follow the rules, Revelations says that you're fucked if you don't follow the rules... Christians can't even agree what the rules are. It would just add to my worry load. Am I doing I right? Am I damning my child to hell?
*shudder* No, thank you! edit: oh, yeah, the OP... otherwise, my life wouldn't change much, except for the going to church and coughing up tithe money I can't afford bits. |

Satanism
I'd become a Satanist immediately. Anything as evil as the xian God must be opposed, and Satan seems to be the only one with a chance in hell.

I'd start trying to learn as much about god as possible. That monster would need to be destroyed, and I'd do my best to figure out some way to do exactly that. I'd probably also try to find a way to contact any other opposition to god, and propose a strategic alliance.

If I found out that the Christian God was real, I'd probably sign on to the Luciferian Liberation Front immediately if not sooner.

I'd go about my business as always. There's nothing to fear.
But it's amusing to perceive that some humans will do parlour tricks one way or another if such and such God exists or not. What I'd like to hear is that someone will do backflips instead of forwardflips if some God reveals himself or not.
