Well they have always tried to curse people's minds with their doctrine(s). In my opinion the only way to counter them is to start blocking them and banning their system. Starting secular schools, organizations, etc.

They have never been tolerant to other cultures or beliefs so why do we need to have any tolerance with them?

Sure it can be funny to mock them once in a while (in the internet most of the time) but they are so hopelesly attached to their system that if they are proven wrong, caught in a no win situation or just presented with a bit of reason, it will lead to a hostile reaction.

Of course this doesn't applies to ALL christians and it also applies to some atheist too.

Just a note. The BaptistBoard is in the process of banning and purging all posts from nontheists.

This is also being discussed <a href="http://iidb.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=47&t=000419" target="_blank">here</a>.

Well it is their board. I don't think that it is utterly unreasonable that a Baptist forum would limit itself to those who are believers. The question that should be relevent is what is the forum for and do they spell out their rules? An analogous situation is a forum on evolutionary biology or a forum on fossil (i.e. not E. vs. C.) banning creationists as not to degenerate into discussion unrelated to its intended purpose.

Now if they set up a creation vs. evolution board and then banned Baptist supporters of evolution then I would have a problem. And of course I have problems with dishonest editing of posts.

If I was wealthy and/or just a plain asshole I would research every person at B.B. who says they are a pastor and look at the bottom of their posts to see if they say where they live. I would then write them an email telling them about the formal debate section here at II and that they have been challenged. I would tell them if they refuse I would take out an add in their town paper saying that they were challenged and declined. Maybe I am full of shit but I would at least feel better. I did give Clint a good private email though!

Wow.

I wonder how they determined who were 'nontheists'? Or was it just anyone who had issues with Creationism?

E/C probably only had little to do with it. (It's been basically dead for a while.) I think we were mostly singled out for posts in Current Events, Politics, and Misc. Discussions.

The webmaster apparently didn't like the fact that people who disagreed with him (or people like him) were posting on his board. He is probably not a good person because a good person would have notified us via email. We had to find it in Announcements section after the bans took place.

Actually, the rules specificaly stated that nontheists were allowed to post in the lower free-for all forums. When i registered I made it quite clear in my registration (that they manually accepted) that I have no religion. Then I posted in the welcome forum that I'm an atheist. The admin welcomed me and reminded me that I can only post in the free-for-all forums.

This is an abrupt change in policy.

Nontheists were welcome to post in the free-for all forums up until the moment that they disabled the accounts and then deleted all posts from those accounts. There was no warning. There has yet to be the promised email in explanation.

Yes they have the right. But it does demonstrate that they have little to no respect for those who have been purged. And, I would say that our behavior over there was not the issue. We were banned for who we are.

Thumbs up

It's their right to do what ever they want to because they are private entity. If anyone says "stop complaining we at BB has the right to do this" just remind them of the Disney Boycott. Baptists do think it is okay to disagree with a company's decisions aslong as it's not their company. At least I don't have to hear Barnabas's stupid stories that he uses when he thinks he's explaining something like his "our house" speech or "imigrant" one.

Just one more reason that if you can't handle it ban it.

Agreed.
This is the most frightening part of the Creationist agenda.
