Default mentioned as having connection?

Judge,

I've seen both TheologyOnline and BOTCW mentioned as having connections with the admin crew at TheologyWeb. Some of the mods/admins of TW are now beginning to post here, so perhaps you can ask them.

Judge:

Really?...you have seen this? Where did you see mention of these connections? If someone is a regular on a forum does this establish a connection? If so what sort of connection?
Does this mean they were kicked off that forum?

Where is there mention of a connection between the crew at theologyweb and BOTCW?

You may well be right Rufus..I really don't know. But my point is this, no one here seems to have evidence and yet it is now being posted as fact.

Just what is the standard of evidence here?

If you know that they left a previous board, how come no one even knows what it was?

Because not ALL of us spend time on christian boards, although a lot of us do. And not everyone goes into this particular forum...and not everyone that goes into this particular forum will visit this particular thread. And then you have to take into account that there are probably over a hundred christian boards....Yes, some of them left another board to create/join TW....Do I remember which one(s) I saw them on? No, I post on about a dozen boards, and browse many more. A month of such time is like a decade in real time. So by the time you calculate a)how many of us browse christian boards, and b)visited THAT particular board during c)that given time frame, who d)post regularly in this forum of II, and e)will bother to read this particular thread.....well, you get the point. Or you could just do as RA suggested and ask one of the TW members who is visiting here.....

someone hears that some said it...someone else vaguely recalls ...someone recalls and then strongly suspects...then all of a sudden it is a fact! And perhaps you are being faceitious? What is your interest in this particular thread that you are so invested in it?

Waaaaaaayyyyyy to civil to be sarfarti. But they could always do an IP check and find out, so I'm guessing he's at least not as dumb as gysgt from CF was. Not that they would bother. I'm sure it's probably one of the bunch, but no way is it Sarfarti. Too damned polite. Even if he started cursing and belittleing everyone in sight, he's already been too polite in the past to be him...

I agree, that's terrible. That is, after all, how creationists learn their creationism, and we should be better than that.

Don't ask me for any thread links tho, I only lurk for giggles.

Ugh. I used to post at TheologyOnline and remember bob b quite well. Is that board still active? The guy is pretty smart and well-informed but his arrogance, condescension, disdain and string of insults for anybody who was not a fellow creationist finally drove me away. And the guy was the moderator of that forum! When I came back to visit later, he was repeating the exact same claims that had been definitively refuted (and in fact which he had been forced to acknowledge were incorrect) just months earlier.

I mentioned BOTCW, not because there is a connection between the administrators/moderators of the two boards, but because several people from TheologyWeb showed up at BOTCW after they got fed up with the spew from the likes of Socrates. They mentioned it.

BOTCW is "lightly" moderated although they will ban you for unexplained reasons. The owner of the board thinks that "ass" is a dirty word even though I point out that Abraham tied his to a tree and Jesus sat on his when he entered Jerusalem. I was still banned for calling someone a pompous ass.

JM: LOL. I think I was banned from BOTCW too.

Cheers

As this is largely a discussion about another board, not evolution, it has been moved to Miscellaneous Discussions.

As a former member of TheologyOnline, I can confirm that this was the original habitat of the animals who established TW.

I know most of them from my days at TOL, where I used to slap them around on a regular basis. After a while, I found the hypocrisy, partisanship and wantonly biased moderation too sickening to stomach, so I moved over to CWS Talk! (BOTCW), where life is a lot easier, and people actually have a sense of humour.

Various other members also moved over for the same reasons. They were good people; rational, friendly Christians, and I always enjoyed their company. After a long time at CWS (I think it was about a year) I set up my own boards, where I currently reside as an administrator.

By a strange coincidence, there was another mass exodus from TOL to CWS, following an attempted coup of the boards and an irreconcilable split between the Preterists and Dispensationalists. It was hilarious to see Turkel attacked and ridiculed by one of the administrators at TOL. I used to re-read the thread on a regular basis; it was prime-time entertainment.

A few of the Preterists later established TW, where they can spew their venom with total impunity.
