Theologyweb.com - where did they come from?
Back when Tweb first got started, someone said that it was the creation of a group of fundies who were kicked off ANOTHER creationist bulletin board system. Something about them not agreeing with the moderator system on that board, or not being able to introduce their "brand" of evidence.
Yes, I note the irony. Anyhow, does anyone remember this discussion? And if so, what was the name of that original board, where Momma Dee Dee and all these hypocrites originally came from? Do we have a listing anywhere of the various fundibot bulletin boards? |

The only boards that I visit are CF, BB, and TW. I don't think it was any of those though, iirc. Why not post it at TW? They can't help but tell you, its their nature to profess, even when they know it's a trap. Regardless, you know their moderation has got to be worse than where they came from. It may not have in the beginning, but it's gotten so bad lately, that I don't even lurk as much, just due to the sickening feeling. |

I'm sure that in the beginning, TWeb founders thought that if they can honestly encourage intelligent conversation, they will surely be able to rebuke evolution and other wordly philosophies. But then things didn't quite go as planned... so they blame the evolutionists for troublemaking. Hah!
But anyway, I still think that TWeb is not the worst board out there. The only area with moderator problems seems to be their Science Dept., and even there it's mostly just Dee Dee. Of course, some of the members are jackasses but that's another issue entirely. |

The worst for moderation (in my experience) is BaptistBoard. They're a regular three-ring circus.
First they banned atheists. Then non-christians. Then liberal christians. I'm not even sure they allow other christians now; it might actually be a Baptist-only BB system. |

Hey, the Puritans left England because of one form of religious persecution, and ended up starting another. It's not like there's no precedent or anything

Even bigger goof balls are the "RaptureReady" crowd. They have elevated non-biblical fiction to cannon. The first ever creto dipsticks to ban me were:
http://rr-bb.com/ I hope they are still there, but I won't mind if they have been "beamed up." |

Hey Sauron, as I recall, Dee Dee Warren was a regular over at TheologyOnline before TheologyWeb came along. If anyone remembers, there was also a Bob B. over there, who I strongly suspect of being Socratism at TheologyWeb, because both post in a very similar style, and they both made the same declaration: "Science is Against Evolution".
Don't ask me for any thread links tho, I only lurk for giggles. - Joe |
