You can call it that if you like. And you're welcome. Sorry that you lost the link supporting your alternate translation but perhaps if you insert the words "Nation of Israel" in a search eng. it might lead you to the cite that you lost.

Then why don't Catholics admire Pontius Pilate? </strong>
Catholics admire Joseph as the patron saint of families and Pilate was the Joseph identity here being cleansed of religious baggage. But Pilate is history and Judaism is alive in the OT laws that we have adopted for the conviction of our own Catholic identity so we may be set free from our religious baggage at a time that is not ours to see. It is called the "mystery of faith."

The Jews here speak on behalf of their mythology which is needed for the conviction of the Jewish identity here called Jesus. Pilate saw nothing wrong with "the man" beneath the Jewish identity. In both Luke (the onmiscient perspective), and John (the Catholic perspective), Pilate specifically referred to Jesus as "the man" to distinguish the two identities. The Jesus identity was to be crucified and the man identity to be set free under the name of "Bar-abbas" which means "son of man."

This makes the crucifixion a metaphysical event that happen to the ego consciousness only but not until all of its qualities and conditions were removed so they may be recalled later in the upper room of the subconscious mind. Pilate was the rational ruler of the conscious mind (much like "Julius Ceasar" slain by Mark Anthony) while Herod was the dominating ruler of the subconscious mind who painted Jesus purple before presenting him to Pilate to show his agreement prior to the conviction by the Jews (they became allies to show consent = eternal resignation).
The crucifixion was needed for resurrection to follow and still is today. The above is all myth and must be a proper representation of metapmorphosis that is archetypal to mankind as animal man.

It is/was believed that these type of people become the sages and wise men needed to direct a civilization into the future and our parlements are still based on this idea between the "senate" and the "house of commons." Also, we like to read their stories and admire their works of art.
