Creationist argument
This is a link to a quite extraordinary fundie creationist argument. Read it, and despair that anybody could really be THAT stupid.
Play a fun game of Count The Fallacies! <a href="http://www.lifeandpeace.com/life/darwin.htm" target="_blank">Darwin or Jesus? One is a liar!</a> <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" /> |

OMG! People are stupid!
My favorite line was this: Quote:
OH, and scroll down to the end, and click on the link titled "See the world's smartest frogs!" <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" /> scigirl |

False dilemmas annoy me. In addition to "Darwin or Jesus being a liar," it is possible that one or both of them was mistaken, or one or both of them had incomplete information, or that they were each discussing things in completely different spheres. I am also annoyed at C.S. Lewis's "lunatic, liar, or Lord" trilemma, which Christians constantly bandy about. For one thing, any number of mental illnesses could be lumped into "lunatic" (look at John Nash, a brilliant game theorist who also happened to be schizophrenic and had a very tenuous grasp of reality). Jesus might conceivably have been a brilliant and charismatic individual who was also schizophrenic. Also, there is an obvious 4th option -- "misrepresented."
Sorry, got off on a bit of a tangent there... |

Second best laugh I've had in ages. I think this bit of text should be given to school children, to teach them how to spot BS when they see it. I think they managed to get just about every(very poor) trick in the book in there.
