Post Living as if god does not exist...

...il Papa is apparently shocked.

Pope attacks 'genetic abuse of life'

<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/2200628.stm" target="_blank">http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/2200628.stm</a>

Hah, poor doddering old fear-monkey, he should be attacking the sexual abuse committed by his legions of paedophilic priests.

I love this quote:

Quote:
In his homily, the 82-year-old pontiff said man "frequently lives as if God does not exist and even puts himself in God's place".
Yes Mr. Potato, they're called "atheists," sheesh, I think Parkinson's has finally eaten what's left of his tiny brain.

Not only do men live as if god does not exist, they have good reason to believe he doesn't exist at all.

And is it me, or is that picture of the cheerleader nuns madly waving pink rags just begging to be photoshopped?

Blesserize!

.T.

The Pope told people at the Mass: "He [man] claims for himself a Creator's right to interfere in the mystery of human disease. He wishes to determine human life through penicillin and surgery, and to establish the limits of death."

Red face

<strong>
He said attacks on the family were a rejection of divine law and an attempt to silence the voice of God.
</strong>
First thought: Wouldn't abusing the trust of parishioners count as attacks on the family?

Second thought: How loudly does the voice of reason need to be speaking, before people start listening?

Quote:
<strong>
And he warned against the "false ideology of freedom".

"When the noisy propaganda of liberalism, of freedom without truth or responsibility, grows stronger in our country too, the shepherds of the church cannot fail to proclaim the one fail-proof philosophy of freedom, which is the truth of the cross of Christ," the Pope said.
</strong>
First thought: Is that really what liberalism is? After all, since it's a philosophical position, there are some things it has to disallow, to distinguish itself.

Second thought: How is believing that any kind of god or Christ exists freedom? It means giving up a good portion of mental health, of self-determination, of the freedom to do not otherwise harmful things that are declared as sins by the Church...

What is it that convinces so many people God still exists?

-Perchance.

Maybe that's why the Holy Father looks so terrible. He's refused Botox injections, saying they're the spawn of Satan!

Has this senile old buffoon never heard of sanitation? "Mystery" of human disease?
Once we figured out not to defecate in our water supply, 75% of the "mystery" was solved. Jebus may not have seen fit to inform us of the existence of bacteria & viruses, but a clever young dutchman invented the instrument that led to that all important, & apparently blasphemous, discovery. I have heard some outrageous things come out of the mouth of that deluded imbecile, but this latest is downright dangerous.

The Pope sez "He wishes to determine human life through penicillin and surgery..."

Like when the surgeons took that bullet out of the Pope's ass back in the early 80s?

Let's see here, "freedom without truth or responsibility"? You mean like how the Catholic church has handled the pedophile priest scandal?

"The Catholics have a pope. Protestants laugh at them, and yet the pope is capable of intellectual advancement. In addition to this, the pope is mortal, and the church cannot be afflicted with the same idiot forever. The Protestants have a book for a pope. The book cannot advance. Year after year, and century after century, the book remains as ignorant as ever."

Er, let's get something straight here - Mad's words as above were a parody of what the Pope said - a legitimate parody, but parody nonetheless. There's a few posts here which treat this as an accurate quote. Of course the Pope didn't say the words that Mad has used; I mean, that would be too honest (as a logical extension of Catholic doctrine) wouldn't it?
