Relationship with god
I was thinking about how other people (christians) kept saying how god has changed their life and has filled them with joy. Now, I was once a hardcore christian, and I don't ever remember being filled with joy from god. I remember being happy because I was hanging around my christian friends and I was always doing the "right" thing, but it NEVER came from god. Some would argue that the feeling was from god, but anyone would get this feeling no matter what religion they follow. So my question is, why do you love god so much if you cannot directly feel him? The most christians can tell me is they get a vague sense of peace. I can give you some drugs to do much better than that. The fact is, no one has a personal relationship from god! It is a one way street, you pray, he listens (supposedly). This was the main thing to started me towards atheism, because when you get down to it, you really aren't having a relationship with a god at all. You are having delusional thoughts that might create a sense of peace. And if christians wish to reply as to how god has communicated with them, please don't say "He just makes me feel his presence" or "I had a dream once" or "He has given me signs in my everyday life, like me finding 5$, it must be god!"

I am starting
a new relationship with the greek god ares(the god of war).
I believe that the greek god ares will answer my prayers to him. You see when I prayed to the christian god there was no answer or results so I left the christian God. |

Mark, you might have mistakenly started a relationship with the pResident of the US, and mistaken it for one with Ares....

I think you're right on the money with this (the "joy" thing, not the ares thing). I had a very similar experience in my hard-core christian days. All those feelings of joy and peace tended to be in the company of many enthusiastic fellow believers, not so much when I was by myself.
It reminds me of a study I saw that claimed that people usually weren't converted to a religion as much as they were "converted" to relationships with the people at a particular church. |

The christian God
gave me no results for my time spent praying so I left the christian God for a new god.Hopefully ares will give me results.
If ares does not I will find a god eventually that will give me results from my prayers. |

When I was a fundie (Orthodox Jew) I tried my darndest to establish a relationship with God. I prayed the sh*t out of me. I spent hours talking to the air. No results.
I now believe it is impossible to have a relationship with God while clothed in the material body. |
