Question Abdominal muscle attachments...

Perhaps this is placed in entirely wrong fora, but if there's a palce where I have a chance to get good answers, it is here I think...

To my question. I have read, and heard, in many places about how the abdominal muscles (and attachments) are not 'made for' bipedal motion but works quite well if we were quadrapeds. What I'm looking for is some references to works on how this is determined. Sure, i can figure out a few ways to see if the muscles gives support in bipedal mode vs. quadraped mode but references to a book or something, where a detailed explanation of this is given would be excellent.

Thanks in advance.

Here's an explanation from a <a href="http://www.chiroweb.com/archives/19/16/13.html" target="_blank">chiropractic site</a>.

Here's a site about the <a href="http://biology.uindy.edu/Biol504/HUMANSTRATEGY/10spine.htm" target="_blank">evolution</a> of the spine.

I couldn't find any cool pictures though.
