I found <a href="http://www.secweb.org/asset.asp?AssetID=214" target="_blank">Creationism to Universal Darwinism: Evolution and Religion,</a> by Taner Edis to be a well written look at the state of both religion and Darwinism in the US and in the world at large. The polls he cites are somewhat depressing, as there are still so many people here that are being sucked in by the scams collectively known as religion. All we can do as freethinkers is point out that their God has no clothes on, and in fact has no body to put them on to boot. Perhaps some day we will put religion where it belongs, in the dustbin of history, but for now sites like the Sec-Web serve to keep the public aware that the God scam is just that. Its past time to grow up as a species and accept our role as the dominate force on the planet, and realize that the only superior being that will ever solve our many problems, is the human being.
