Thumbs up Had to come back for "HELL HOUSE"

Just wanted to tell everyone about one of the greatest (and most terrifying; on so many levels) documentaries I've ever seen called "Hell House." Jobar, old friend, feel free to move this (if you're still mod here), but I figured one last visit to the old stomping ground would be the best way to promote this unbelievable documentary I just saw and everyone must see (no, I'm not involved in any way in the project; just a stunned fan).

And I don't care which "side" sees this! See it whether you are an enlightened, mature, intelligent adult (aka, atheist), or still trapped in the hell of your own pitiful, self-loathing, childish indoctrination (aka, cult member).

And it's not just the subject matter (a pentacostal church--I think--down in Texas that tries to scare the hell into everyone over Halloween by acting out live versions of Chick's Tracks), it's a remarkably well done documentary on all levels, showing how and largely why these cult members desperately cling to the horrific, obvious trash that is christian cult dogma.

If anyone ever wanted a better impartial means to deconstruct the "how," "why" and "holy shit" of the christian cult and how it ultimately and insidiously destroys human potential so effortlessly, this is it in a nut!

The irony is overwhelming and (as always) utterly lost on everyone in the cult. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and if you live in New York, you'll gladly kiss ten bucks goodbye.

SEE IT, DAMN YOU! SEE IT!

For f*ck's sake!

Bye.

(edited for UBB code - oh yeah...it's been a while...SEE IT)

Howdy, Koy. We miss you around here!

I'd love to see that documentary. I just hope someone in the Austin area is brave enough to show it.

Thanks everyone, but just a quick technical note lest there's any confusion. I'm not "back." I just wanted to pass along this "must see" to those who would most appreciate it.

I miss you too, Kally. Philo

Well, at least we know you're alive and well. Better than nothing.

I sure do miss Koy's intelligent and passionate posts but I can understand his frustration at writing verbose arguments only to have DM (not saying his name lest I summon him up from the netherworld) reply "nu-uh!"

Nope, can't do it. Every time I even read about those wacked Hell Houses and their various twisted scenes I get angry and sick. I can't imagine watching a movie-length documentary on the issue.
