That applies to Christians, Muslims, Hindus, [insert random religion here]. The details of the text and whatever translations you want to make aren't important. They're all just stories anyways and their only relevance is in the interpretations of the people reading them. If they choose to read them to mean love everybody, they'll do so. If they choose to read them to mean kill everybody who disagrees with me, they'll do so. The specifics of the texts themselves are unimportant.</strong>
Well sometimes it the translations themselves that deceive people(even the adherents of the religion), but other than that, I have to agree with you completely!

Oh, but I did...and I all I saw was you quibbling over "murder", "slay", "kill", and "fight"...all apparently in an attempt to make these passages seem less violent? If I could perform the contortions necessary to make these passages seem anything but violent, I'd be an Olympic gymnast.

Christianity vs Islam?

I won't be taking sides in THAT fight....

...I'll let them kill each other then take out the winner.

Watch world peace erupt! Yay!

Qur'an:
Surah 2:190
"And fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you but be not aggressive. Surely Allah loves not the agressors"

Surah 22:39
"Permission to fight is given to those on whom war is made, because they are oppressed. And surely Allah is Able to assist them"

Surah 17:33
" And kill not the soul which Allah has forbidden except for a just cause. And whoever is slain unjustly, We have indeed given to his heir authority-let him not exceed the limit in slaying.Surely he will be helped"

I'm sorry... I didn't mean to miss your point... but you have to admit, your haircut does a real good job of hiding it.

Is there a reasonable apologetic for this?

I meant that I did not mean aliteral war between the two religions, but I was wondering why atheists lump the two religions together when they are different. I am much happier when Atheists reject Islam BECAUSE it's theistic INSTEAD of because they think it is just a variation of christianity and judaism.

But haircut? I fail to get your meaning
