My village, Oak Park, IL, is a nuclear weapons-free zone. We have signs up on the borders of the village.

Risher, a devout Christian, put a copy on her office wall and then placed others at the town entrances. She has contacted Liberty Counsel, a nationwide religion-based organization that offers legal help, for possible assistance.
Ha! I can't believe even Mat Staver would take on this piece of shit. We shall see.

I don't trust Fox/Faux News. They always find a way to make it look like the fundies are right.

That wasn't the only one. This appeared in the Politically Correct Patrol section a couple of days ago: N.Y. Bans 'God Bless You,' but Fla. Can't Ban Satan

You are going to be seeing this a lot more. Fox and CNN are duking it out for the #1 spot and as with politicians, if you have nothing real to offer, the old "I'm more devout than my opponent" play always grabs a few gullibles. CNN made sure to note that a WTC victim credits God for survival today on the front page. You will see plenty of this in the days to come.

That's just stupid. It is alleged that both actions violate the same constitutional principle. One isn't "good" and the other "bad," unless of course you believe that Sean Hannity is a "reporter."

I'm sure you're right. It's sad to see the influence of Faux News on the rest of the press. It's almost as pathetic as seeing the pResident carrying a copy of Bernard Goldberg's Bias to Camp David for the weekend. He's dumb enough to get suckered by every lie in it.

Ah, excellent point that I had forgotten to bring up around here. I scan hundreds of news stories a day and find about ten or so a day from the U.S. that can be used as evidence that religion is Not A Good Thing. Right after that broke: zero. I would imagine the media were watching what they printed worried about the government thinking they were "liberally biased." I saw many more happy-sacchariny feelgood god stories.

Luckily that all blew over in two days and it was business as usual.

Some interviewers had even suggested other mayors should take a similar stand, and Risher agrees. "Our currency says "In God we trust'; and our nation was founded on biblical principles," said Risher. "I think we should encourage other legislators to take the nation back for God. I'm asking God for a worldwide revival to bring people together -- to stand as one against the evil that causes all these bad things in the world, to love one another and to raise our kids in a Godly atmosphere."
Despair. Some people will never get it.
