Pretty poor translations becauce the 'firstborn' child is always a male child or God would be female. The firstborn is the child within that is to become son of man to become fully man or fully Israel in this case.

Thanks for making those translations look pretty stupid.

I'll tell you what's stupid-- saying that God has two hairy nuts between his legs.

No, Amos. Myth is the ego or persona of reality and they must annihilate each other or else oblivion may not be obtained conciously.

Disneyland is the natural awareness of our fears that we must have in order to coagulate our humanity.

Amos is the impersonal personification of the the reality of the unreal in terms of epistemology.

I am surprised nobody came up with my favorite as yet. On the very first day God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness, calling the light "day," and the darkness "night."
Sun, moon and stars were created at the fourth day, I always wondered where the light came from.

No, because there is no indication in the text that this is what was meant.
One of the basic principles of Bible exegesis is that we are not to add to or take away from the plain meaning of the words. With that in mind, it should be apparent that a perfect and omnipotent "God" wouldn't need an "Amos" to explain what "He" meant in "His Word."

I believe I may have to take a break from the forums, Don. That's actually starting to make sense.

Hello Arouet,

Maybe he had a bunch of ETs running around with
flashlights. That must be it because how else
would god have been able to see what he was
doing when he was creating the sun, moon, and
stars. I'll bet that Rudolph was there, as well.

Best,
Clarice
