Default Until the killing stops

I won't be posting for a while. Confronted with the mass murder undertaken by George the Second, I have little favor for squabbling with creationists (even the knuckle dragging YECie kind).

However, I intend to keep on going, here and elsewhere.

At least as long as I can safely do so.

And I. As for safety, hell, I'm old. Who cares?

Looking forward to your return, Doc.

I subscribe to a Seattle-based skeptics list. The war has deeply divided the participants, who are all skeptics, and most of whom I'm pretty sure are not Republicans. (IOW even many of those who don't like Bush, and even some who think he has mishandled the diplomacy, think the war is nevertheless justified.) I wonder what it's like here?

When the war debate flared up over there, I was hoping that maybe skeptics would use our skeptical thought processes to examine each sides' conflicting arguments. Sadly, I was mistaken. (Maybe I shouldn't even ask the question here?)

Hello and welcome, Emma Peel. (I was an Avengers fan the first season!)

And no, this is not the correct forum to discuss this. Try Misc. Discussions, or go straight to Politics. We are also showing some division, but by and large the cries for peace seem far and away the loudest on II.

How nauseating. Almost enough to make me want to join the fools who vomited on the government buildings in San Francisco to express their war opposition in the only way that they knew how, intellectual expression clearly being beyond them.

"Cries for peace" are like "a women's right to choose," Slogan's that cover a bankrupt intellect. Disgusted, Albert the Traditional Catholic

How does the Pope feel about this? How does the Prince of Peace feel about this? And speaking of bankrupt intellects does it matter to you, traditional Catholic that you are, what they think.

Dear JTV,
You ask,
Quote:

Of course it matters to me what my Church’s leadership thinks and says. The sexual, pastoral, and dogmatic scandals they perpetrate are horribly painful to me. Likewise, the popes who had concubines during the Renaissance remain a pain to all God-loving Catholics as much as they are a reassurance to all Catholic-hating heathens and Christians.

But this pope’s weasel words regarding the war, capital punishment, social justice, Traditionalism, and most everything else does not matter to me in terms of my Catholicism. He speaks as a confused man, not as the pope. He has only once in his long reign written anything that bespeaks of his role as pope. And, of course, I have no problem accenting that pontifically official utterance.

You must’nt think that the pope speaks as the pope every time he opens his mouth. Ergo, I have no trouble not listening to 99.9% of his politically correct mush. – Sincerely, Albert the Traditional Catholic
