Atheism isn't a thing. It's simply a lack of belief.

Christianity,OTOH,is a thing. It's one of the disgusting man made inventions that Radorth was speaking of.

Wisdom, what wisdom??

Seems to me modern science is our lone hope, religion certainly hasn't been helpful.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Why is it so unbelievably difficult for xians to realize what atheism actually is?

Sincerely,

I'd rather have eternal life with God than eternal nothingness. You choose to end up suffering eternal pain. You will have no one to blame but yourself ( although I'm well aware you will use every chance to blame it on God ). If Christians were such evil monsters, why the heck would we waste our time trying to show you the way to avoid that eternal pain?

Yeah the A-bomb has been a real boon to modern life. We're all hoping North Korea and Iran will have all the blessings of modern science soon.

Unfortunately 3 nutballs with money and a good physicist could negate all other scientific or medical gains put together. I'm surprised more atheists don't vote for Bush, since the former's hope lies entirely in human endeavor.

I think I'll keep my money on Jesus. While I don't think "religion" has done much to help, I think science and humanism have been field-tested and found useless as well. Any gang members attending church in your area, BTW?

Christianity is a relationship with God. Religion is man's way of reaching God, Christianity is God's way of reaching man. Atheism is Satan's best device at destroying that relationship.

I agree with Rad.

Just like religion, science is a double edged sword. While there have been some great and beneficial breakthroughs with science ( medicine being the biggest), science has also been the cause of the most deaths and violence in the world. As Rad pointed out, harnessing the destructive power of the atom, or the greusome truth of bio/chem weapons certaintly hasn't been beneficial too society. And of course, we all know guns were such a great scientific invention... What would we ever do without them? Oh i know! Not kill thousands of people every day with them!

So you're a bible-thumper because technological advances can be used to harm people on a greater scale than was possible prior to said advance. :banghead:
I've got a five year-old nephew that can come up with a more sophisticated than this.

Science is the same as everything, including religion, when in the wrong hands it kills. We can see that throughout history. Without advancements in science and technology the religious would never have been able to kill as many people as they did.

Please explain how people who do not even believe in a hell can consciously choose to go there?
