People will typically chose to believe a lie before they will accept the truth.
Any evidence of this?

Jesus was sure of His identity and His mission. He lovingly told people the truth about themselves and about His Father even if it meant being brutally executed. Christ died on the cross for the sinners, so that we could be transformed by His Spirit into saints. God the Father has made it ridiculously easy to get into Heaven: 'Say yes to my Son and follow Him.'[/QB]
You know what's even easier than that? Do nothing at all.

BTW, care to elaborate on what "following" "Him" means?

I am somehow not comfortable getting transformed into a saint. My girlfriend would refuse to see me. May be in my old age I would consider it.

And did you mean "ridiculously easy" or "easily ridiculous" ?

Saying yes to Jesus is not easy, because it requires us to say no to ourselves. God wants to cure people of their selfishness, but most people don't see the need or want to be cured of themselves.

The hard part is that it requires you to stop reasoning for yourself. And this is something that gets harder and harder to do as the Church loses control over educating people WRT to the past. As we get more and more educated, and more and more information is available on the internet, we have the resources to put it all together for ourselves, without a priest telling what to think, and realize that:

It's all bullshit

But, wait a sec, didn't you just say,

So, it's not easy to get into heaven, now? But, it was "ridiculously" easy before.... Um, maybe you'd like to get your story straight?

Ah, hell with it, if the gospel writers didn't bother, why should you?

But you admit that one cannot know the truth, because if you did, you'd be God. If this is true, then how can one go about seeking a truth that has been purposefully hidden?

One can only read the Bible so many times before realising the text will not change and there are no more answers to be gleaned from it.

Rimstalker,

In my first comment, I said God has made it easy to get into heaven. I didn't say it was going to be easy for man to enter into it.
