Have I witnessed an atheist miracle?
Today was Ash Wednesday, and me being in an Xian school, we had to all get ash rubbed on our foreheads. The whole time I'm thinking "this is insane" but decided not to rub it off as not to offend the Xians.
5 minutes later, the ashes are gone. I didn't touch them once. (Admittely, I did walk through the rain in that 5 minutes, but that didn't seem to affect anyone else's ashes.) At which point my Xian friends called my alledged rubbing off of the ashes "despicable" (You have no idea how bad the temptation is to y ell out "THERE IS NO GOD!!!!") Maybe I'm just being stupid here (true).... (Note: this thread is not to be taken 100% seriously) |

What exactly is the significance of Ash Wednesday?
My sympathies for being in a christian school where you cannot express your opinions. |

Maybe this is God's way of telling you you're not going to heaven and rubbing it in your face, in a manner of speaking.

You know you could print up a bunch of proofs that god doesn't exist and leave them laying around where others will find them.

Ash Wednesday brings back memories of Catholic elementary school...
The day is a Catholic tradition. I'm not certain, but I think only Catholics observe it. |

Sounds like no self-respecting raindrop will go near a Christian.

I think all Christians recognize Ash Wednesday as the beginning of lent, but Catholics are the only ones I have known to actually put ashes on their foreheads. I still have to try really hard not to laugh everytime I see them do it, though.
