I first heard about osmotic energy a cuple of years ago, and was instantly fascinated. What do you think of this technology, is it a viable method of producing power? Can it help to alleviate the the pressure on the world's supply of fossil fuel? And, as there many scientists here, do you have any idea if it is close to being realised?

Thumbs up

Sounds promising! Especially if someone is willing to take on the costs of setting up some such plant, which seem to be considerable. The pros, such as being clean and having plenty of available resources, are quite compelling for further study. I'll keep my ears open about this.
