Jesus Week
Well, it's Jesus Week here at glorious SDSU.
There are posters everywhere, flyers in the mail, booths @ the Union, etc. If any of you have been to a college campus, I'm sure you get the idea of how this thing works. The Campus Cult for Christ has their booth, with prepackaged bible, video, pencil, etc all in a handy baggy that they give to everyone. I have to go a WEEK walking by that booth, and need some ideas on how to make it. If anyone has any good suggestions for mocking them, or anything of that nature, it'd be greatly appreciated. |

Although, I could probably be persuaded to take the package, what with the free pencil and all. |

Take them all, or as many as you can. Every time you walk by. Ask for more. If they start to recognize you, get your friends to do it.
Keep the pencils. File the rest in the circular drawer. |

Pick up one of the bags and take out the things you want like the pencil and leave the resto f the stuff on the table.
Or, better still, walk a different way to class and stuff. |

Why not challenge them to a formal debate on campus? You could debate the existence of God? Or the coherence of the Christian faith? Or the inerrancy of the Bible? You could ask the campus crusaders for a copy of their membership list and invite all their members, as well as opening it up to everyone else on campus. Nothing will be accomplished by mocking them or giving them trouble.
In a preachin' vs. teachin' debate, the preacher almost always comes out ahead. Most people prefer sound bites (no matter how illogical) over logic and reason. |

Read about California Polytechnic State University's Jesus Week debate here. The Campus Crusade is run like a modern corporation selling a product, with a lot of capital behind it. There is no comparable organization marketing freethought on college campuses with that degree of professionalism, unfortunately. |
