The 10 Commandments- Historical?
Seems like it's pretty common to allow the posting of the 10 commandments under the reasoning that they are "historical", not religious.
But I'm wondering, how significant are the 10 commandments from that stance? Only about half of them aren't religous in nature, and certainly not unique. I'd say that saying "Don't kill or steal" is pretty meaningless, as far as legal history goes. Is there any evidence that the Founding Fathers were influenced by the 10 commandments? |
