ok folks <a href="http://superstringtheory.com/cosmo/cosmo3.html" target="_blank">this link</a> is a very cool down and dirty intro to cosmological origins of the universe as described by the "big Bang" theory.

I know it doesn't have a heck of a lot to do with biological evolution and may not belong here. However, as a biologist who is abyssmally ignorant of cosmology and physics, I found it interesting, entertaining and, best of all, quick.
