How can we be "separated" from an omnipresent god?

On the topic of what to wear to court, I'll probably just grab a cheap suit from Top Shop or Marksies. No point in blowing a load of money on it, since I won't have any job interviews to wear it to afterwards. The most important thing is not to try and ingratiate yourself with the judge by making silly faces and joking on. They never buy that. |

The Waiting Room
All this talk about what to wear, and you guys are missing another critical point that Boro Nut raised: the waiting room!
Are there gonna be snacks? Bathrooms? Magazines? Are we allowed to talk to each other to rehearse our stories? Will we get to meet some celebrities? |

I like the idea of everyone getting their stories straight as well. Do you think it's worth intimidating a few witnesses? What sort of bail would be set? If you're already damned to Hell, could you also be held over for contempt of court? |

Ask your preacher about that. And ask him what Christians 200 years ago thought about the Rapture. (Hint: they didn't, because it wasn't invented until the 19th century). Then go to an accredited college or university with a religious studies department and ask one of the Bible professors about the Rapture, second coming, and Revelation. You may be surprised! |

Magus55: Ever wondered about this Jerusalem thing and Israel and the Temple and Armageddon - I mean, as they crop up in the prophecies about the Second Coming and the Last Trump and End of the World and all that stuff?
They were written by people - Jews exclusively - for whom the Temple, Jerusalem and Israel and Judaea were the centre of the universe. They didn’t know about China, Japan, India, Europe, the Americas etc. So it was natural for them to promote events in their small, squabbling corner of the world to cosmic importance. History has left them up a backwater, and although Israel is still a possible catalyst for Big Events, the reason isn’t because the Jews, “God’s Chosen People” are involved but because Muslims are, and there are Muslims all over the world, and they’re getting pissed off. These days, the fate of Jerusalem is of no greater importance, in terms of World History, than the fate of dozens of cities in the States, Canada or Europe. Your religion is pegged to the assumptions of a people who lived in antiquity and occupied a land of no economic significance. Israel has nothing for the rest of us to get worked up about - not even oil. And that’s odd; you’d have thought that if ever god had wanted to do his chosen people a favour, he’d at least have given them an oil-rich land. |
