None of which makes me a fundamentalist, literalist, Christian. I am a cherry picker Christian. Being born again 3 times did not change that part at all. Nor should it. And, sorry about that, but I AM guaranteed salvation. And I still think there will be sex in heaven. |

And Magus----------
That wasn't exactly beaucoup verses telling us what Heaven will be like was it? Now my take on that as a cherry picker and non-literalist---- ----is that the reason that Heaven is not well defined in the Bible is so we can choose our own heaven. Our own heaven as we may see it. Otherwise, even assuming the Bible is divinely inspired (which I do not), then God would have had described in great detail what heaven was like in the Bible. Why would He not have described in great detail what our salvation really means? I think that detailed description was purposely left out--------so that anyone can imagine his own heaven. --------------------------------------------------------------------- And I could read into those couple of versus other things If I chose to. (and I am not real wild about Revelations anyway --Mathew is OK though.) |

Study for yourself. Open the Koran and sincerely ask Allah to show you His truth. Study for yourself. Open the Bhagavad-Gita and sincerely ask Krishna to show you His truth. Study for yourself. Open the Dhammapada and sincerely ask Buddha to show you his truth. Study for yourself. Open the Tao Te Ching and sincerely ask the Tao to show you its truth. How can you say it won't work if you've never tried? Are you frightened of the possible results? |

Only God knows our fate, He and He alone has the right to take life, we don't. If he alone has the right to take life, why did he order the Israelites to take so many lives? If he alone has the right to take life, what happens to people who commit murder in self-defence? If he alone has the right to take life, and a woman with an ectopic pregnancy will die if an abortion is not performed, should she pray to God that he somehow kill her baby or should she prepare to die? Just to spice it up a little, let's say that rather than the unborn child who for some reason was implanted in her Fallopian tubes, the woman is the one who's only weeks away from finding the cure for cancer. What should she do? |

God said there is no marriage, and He forbids premarital sex. Firstly, why is there no marriage in heaven? What's god's rationale for forbidding it? Secondly, if marriage is good on earth but bad in heaven, how do you know that premarital sex, bad on earth, will not be good in heaven? Maybe in heaven the rules are all backward. |
