Post SRN admits to evolution

I'm driving home from work this morning. I start flipping through the radio. One of the local christian stations is doing their news. Its from this thing SRN news. One of the stories was about scientists discovering that an increase in skin cancer. Has been caused by a sudden change in genes. Isn't that what evolution is?. It seems to me they unknowingly admited that evolution does happen.

No, see, that's micro-evolution, which any good cretinist will tell you is Part Of God's Plan (tm). It's macro-evolution, known in scientific circles as "evolution," that they deny ... because, of course, those cancer genes didn't spout legs or wings, did they?

Where have you been? They obviously believe things change. See faq number five below:

On their biological list, see S. Bullock who researches cancer as well.

No that's not evolution; it's adaptation. It's the same reason why antibiotic-resistant bacteria are not evidence for evoluiton. As every creationist knows true evidence for evolution would be a cat giving birth to a pine tree. <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />

No, no, they said a change in jeans. See when you wear cut-off jeans you get an increase in skin cancers.

No, they're not admitting to evolution. That change was brought about by sin, particularly the sin of running around near naked in the sun!

Well, I'm always skeptical of these claims, mainly because our detection methods are so much better nowadays, and people are more aware of the symptoms of cancer today than they were, say 50 years ago.

So when you see a rise in # diseases reported over several years, always consider that as an explanation.

True, even if we had the ability to build a time machine. And could actually show them how things changed directly. THey'd still deny it.
