Default Hilarious thread on CF

Humour break, too many enzymes floating around lately for my brain to digest...

There is a funny, but sad thread on Christian Forums in the "christians only" section. The poster wants help in saving this poor deluded evolutionist and wants to witness to him. However, it turns out that this person knows almost nothing concrete about Christianity!!?

So are there many Xians like this out there in the anti-science field? It is almost like people pick the label simply because it is popular, like being a Packers fan in Green Bay.

Yeah, I have been following that one too. Pathetic and funny at the same time. It never ceases to amaze me how people think they can "debate" something of which they know so bloody little. In many cases, they don't even know their own religion (it says somewhere in Psalms "if you don't know what you are talking about, keep your mouth shut" - more or less.

I can't say that I saw any humor in it at all. The poor woman is obviously under educated, and perhaps somewhat slow. That she is seeking answers, even if she doesn't quite understand her own question, is more than most are willing to put themselves out for. I don't subscribe to any of her religious views or her thoughts on science, and its role in our lives, but her heart was in the right place (misguided or not) and for that, and because of her short comings, I believe she deserves some gracious latitude in our judgment of her.

But she isn't asking questions, she is attacking (er, "trying to save") the evolutionist because he believes in something that she thinks undermines her religion. She is taking a positive position against him (note when she says that she is looking for arguments to use on him) without really understanding what she is arguing for.

To her, the evolutionist is wrong simply because his belief contradicts her religious position. However she doesn't even know what that position is! The sheer unmitigated gall here is, well, it is humourous.

okay i am new here and new to the ideas and such of evolution, so here i go. my friend and i always tend to get into very heated debates about evolution and time. I need help on what to say to him, he is very tough and I want to see him saved, so any ideas.

I am not sure what you are trying to say to me. What is your definition of evolution?

What I was asking was what points could I use while in a debat over evolution, not if it's true or not.

I am kind of new to this, so would you mind explaining to me what the Nicene Creed is

Also, who wrote this creed? Was it spiritually inspired by God?

Admittedly, her motive and position in her initial post may not be to our liking, and she may not fully understand her own position (a very telling point in of itself) but taking someone to task because of their obvious short comings is simply petty, and certainly suggests a less than healthy ego of those who do so. Perhaps some couch time is in order.

Umm, sounds like you're taking someone to task because of their obvious shortcomings there, dude.

Only because I am giving them more credit for their intellectual abilities and education than I do Rhonda. But, hey, if they too are under educated and a bit slow up stairs, I apologize guys for being too harsh on you. Maybe they have more in common with her than I thought.

Do you know what a "rhetorical question" is? Is it a request for information or a form of argument? (And is this recursion?)
