Wink One Adult Bookstore

You march in support of <a href="http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=001151;p=" target="_blank">one adult bookstore</a> and you get branded for life.

Thought I might get more support here than on the BB.

You showed a lot of courage to do what you did.

I applaud you for your intellectual honesty.

Dude.. that's like.. dude. Seriously. What the HELL reason do they have to be such bitches because you support freedom of expression?

That's such CRAP! And the fact that they use it against you... you didn't do anything fundamentally wrong. The Bible has sex and sexual references in it. I don't hear the bleedin' baptists condemning the Bible.

Tell all your self righteous baptist friends that
they shouldn't take it out on the world just
because they're sexually uptight. It's nobodies
business what the rest of us chose to do. They
cling to the mythology of an pathetic and ignorant
bronze age culture. I'm convinced that there is
some kind of personality disorder that causes
Christians, Baptists especially, to seek out a
religion that makes them feel like they're more
self righteous than the rest of the world. Kinda
the "Teachers Pet" syndrome for adults. The sooner
you all realize this and stop trying to impose your own viewpoints on the rest of the world, we'll all be better off.

Sorry to vent on you Joshua, the Avs are down
six goals to the Red Wings, and I had tickets to
the cup playoffs....

Good job, Rev.

I don't think that everything sold in an adult book store is healthy, uplifiting, or positive; but I feel the same way about our local Borders bookstore (which carries the _Left Behind_ series and other filth).

Weird choice of friends you have there, Josh.

Is it not obvious to them that freedom of speech and freedom of religion are inextricably linked? Or would they rather go down shouting 'their' gospel while the organizationally superior Catholics remake America in their own vision?

I wonder what Torquemada could do with a Tens unit and some LSD?

How apropos; this is about as ferociously as I can picture you ever ranting and raving, Rev.

My sympathy for having such anger and vindictiveness directed at you, though. By the way, Barnabas2 is quite wrong in his estimation of secularists--at least some of us secularists are not so benighted as to disagree with you.

I must also admit an amount of perverse pleasure seeing so many play "slam the heretic." Like an online form of stoning...

I don't think I would quite call the Rev and those damn baptists "friends". Not from the way they talk to/about him, anyway.

Joshua:

I read through the thread -- good grief, such viciousness and intolerance!

It seems to me that a good many of the posters there were deliberately misinterpreting what you were trying to say. You made it clear that you weren't supporting pornography, per se, but freedom of expression. Somehow, most of the BB posters seemed incapable of understanding the difference.

In any event, you had the courage to publicly stand up for your principles, even though you doubtless knew it wouldn't win you lots of friends. That is a pretty good definition of "integrity."

Cheers,

Michael
