Angry The Witch trials Revisited

Feild trip turns to witch hunt

It's to Pastor Milleville's credit that on Thursday he acknowledged that he didn't know the witches were innocent when he made his Wednesday remarks

What kind of idiot does not know that they were innocent? This is a community that is nearby to Salem where the whole sick mess happened. This guy is a civic leader. People look up to him for guidance. He should be defrocked for stupidity.

The idiotic fundies believe there are such things as witches. The issue that these dummies do not get is that the accused of Salem were not either guilty or not guilty of witchcraft. There is no such thing as witchcraft and you cannot be guilty or not of an imaginary delusion. It is not alright to say that they were not guilty of being witches. THERE are no witches! These people were victims of delusionary justice because they didn't have enough power to fight back against a reign of religious terror.

I once had a fundy tell me that anything said in Latin was a spell which would raise up demons!
At the time, my screen name was a Latin word...

When I think of witches I think of people mixing and matching recipies for salvation and cook this up into a brew that will sustain them.

Others gather brushwood and tie this onto handle to write their name upon. On this they soar through midheaven while burning daily scriptures to stay afloat lest they crash and are condemned to burn with the brushwood that keeps them aloft until thay crash.

Again others die at the foot of the cross with the burning desire for atonement. They wish to rise but because of sin they will burn (oxidize)with this desire until they die nonetheless. Some will yearn for spontaneous combustion.

And you tell me they don't exist?

Amos, who here would define witches in this way except for you?

I'm sure you must have noticed that no one who posts here thinks the way you do. That's meant nicely, so you may take that as a compliment, if you wish.

So people are given credit now for not getting their facts straight before they make idiotic comments about something?

Wink

How about a good old Latin Mass?

I just knew that the Gregorians down the road were up to no good!

Pastors are promoted to bishop for exceptional stupidity, not defrocked.

I started a thread on this over here.

I guess idiocy is de rigeur in theistic circles. One of the Barna Research Institute's Year's Most Intriguing Findings was that 40% of senior pastors in the US never attended seminary! Holy Crap! At least seminary study might expose one to such things as the Salem witch trials. Furthermore, seminary study teaches such things as rudimentary counciling skills and how to recognize when you're out of your depth in helping relationship and mental problems in your parishners. But no, it's better to be an ignorant, untrained yahoo than actually know what you're talking about.
