C-S views of Baptist Joint Committee
Baptist Joint Committee
Everyone knows about the famous Jefferson letter to the Danbury Baptists. Not everyone knows that they were actually in favor of a strong separation between church and state. Some Baptists still seem to be. The link above could prove useful when debating theists who do not appreciate C-SS. While I don't agree with everything they say, they do appear to strongly support C-SS. Edit to add their Home Page [ July 19, 2002: Message edited by: crazyfingers ]
|

A good reference.
These Baptists seem to be aligned with Americans United for Separation of Church and State on most issues. (They provide a link to AU on their links page, as well as People for the American Way.) But they were not principled or brave enough to actually support the removal of "under God" from the Pledge, although their statement on the Pledge contains a lot of good reasons why they should have. A point in their favor is the enmity towards them from Focus on the Family and the Southern Baptist Convention. |
