Post Richard Dawkins and his critics

People like Phillip johson have constantly attacked Dawkins for various reasons. Others have attacked his solution to the alleged information problem etc.

I was wondering if Dawkins had a response online? Is he even aware of it? Or is he just dismissing people like johnson as ignorant twits who don't deserve a response?

Wink

Actually, I find anti-Dawkins sentiment to be the best evidence FOR macroevolution. Ever notice how nobody ever even starts to interact with ANY of Dawkins arguements???

If evolution is so weak, why not just write a response and be done with it??

But in the nearly 150 year history, there have been no real logical criticisms whatsoever.

Actually, I wish simeone would try to answer some of Dawkins arguements. It would move the debate to a higher and more intellectually honest ground.

Try <a href="http://www.world-of-dawkins.com/" target="_blank">World of Dawkins</a>. They seem to have most of his online writings there.

true. but mostly book reviews and general writeings. Maybe Dawkins considers it a waste of time to respond to idiots like johnson.

I read an article once that described how he was blindsided by a couple of creationist quote-miners posing as reporters. His realization of what they were up to happened to coincide with a question about one of his specialties, and his silence while he considered his options was mistaken for ignorance.

Can't seem to locate the reference, though...

But as I understand it, that's why he won't respond or deal directly with creationists and/or IDists.

The article you’re probably after is <a href="http://www.skeptics.com.au/journal/dawkins1.htm" target="_blank">The Information Challenge</a>.

Dawkins rarely engages directly with cretinists because to do so gives them the kudos of appearing to be arguing on an equal footing; that there is a scientific argument to be had. They should not be given this kudos.

He has however occasionally ripped into creationist books. See for ex this review of Milton’s Facts of Life:

Check this out. It's Dawkins' reply to William Dembski's invitation to become an ISCID "Fellow."

<a href="http://www.kcfs.org/thelink/LinkV1N3screen.pdf" target="_blank">Kansas Citizens for Science Newsletter December 2001</a>

Dawkins' comical love letter to Dembski is on page two.

Hold on to your eyes Douglas J. Bender, lest they roll right out of your head, across the floor, and down the stairs.
