Biff: :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

I used to administer a PBX and got to record and set up the queue messages. It's a good thing I wasn't drinking coffee!

I'm sure the real Jesus would use an Enya tape, but you get the idea.

I would add one thing to your prayer waiting message:

To send your prayer to Jesus, press 1
To send your prayer to Allah, press 2
To send your prayer to Vishnu, press 3
To send your prayer to Zeus, press 4
If you're a Mormon, please hang up now

I have a question did you decide to be an atheist simply because a few prayers werent answered? sounds like it.

Spurly believes the prayers that weren't answers were people that prayed for a Santa Claus list, which I found to be an insult to those of us who truly prayed for an anwer. Are you angry because it hits the truth of what is really going on here?
Not at all, but I agree with Spurly on this

Quote:
Spurly doesn't appear to have the courage to really face my question head on
yeah Debby I am sure thats it

and it looks like you need to accuse me of something so that you can keep your comfort level.
Not at all
Quote:
I am not accusing all Christians of what happened to me, most abuse in my life was caused by Christians though. I am sorry that it bothers you but I am not going to go back into denial just for your comfort level.
I could care less what you do with your life, believe or not. who cares.
Quote:
Perhaps you need to try to understand what it is that is really making you uncomfortable and angry about what happened to me, instead of being angry with me for speaking the truth.
perhaps you should not see them as christians that did this but *people* that did those things...
Quote:
Why would I ask Jesus about this ? He never has answered a prayer before why should I believe that now he is going to answer my prayer now. If you are angry about my story why don't YOU ask Jesus why he didn't answer my prayers, perhaps YOU will get the answer as he ignored my pleas. Then please let me know what he says, especially why I wasn't good enough in his eyes to even get some comfort from what I was going through. I would really like to know Amy. Take your anger up with your god, not me.
You want answers, you ask him, Its not my problem. Its yours. Have you ever gotten any counseling?

Again, I reiterate: please avoid taking this to a personal level.

To answer your question I am not an atheist. And I prayed more than just a few prayers and they weren't about bringing me goodies, many were about making the abuse stop. Many were asking god to make me a better person, many prayers were about asking forgiveness for the things I did wrong. Yet you agree with spurly that my prayers were about god giving me goodies? I take it you haven't heard a word I said then.

Amie I am not asking you to take on my problems or to care about them. I am doing fine without your help. I am fortunate to have caring people in my life that have helped me walk through a painful healing process. But again that is not what this thread is about. My question to spurly and now you since you jumped into it, is why didn't Jesus answer my prayers? You tell me to ask Jesus, but there is no point to ask as there is never an answer. Give me one reason I should pray to something that doesn't bother to answer. Since you seem to get answers from him I am asking you to ask for me. Then perhaps you could relay the answer to me.

Not that it is your business and you have clearly stated you could care less, I will answer your question though. Yes I have had therapy and have healed from the wounds and even forgiven my abusers, although I don't have contact with them as they are still abusers. But that is not what this is about, this is about prayers not being answered or prayers that have failed as in the OP. I am giving my testimony about how my prayers weren't answered. Care to try to answer it?

I have heard. I agreed with spurly that santa clause type prayers that are not sincere seem to not be answered...

You just said that you had caring people in your life help you, who's to say that was not an answered prayer. When was the last time you prayed?

Whats the point of giving up?

I hope he answers you, seriously. What would it take for you to feel Jesus has answered you?

How is it humanly possible to answer your question on why it appears to you that Jesus has not answered you? I would very much like to give you an answer on why, but that can only be answered by Jesus.
