Default Court-TV and Psychics

Watching Court-TV last night from about 9 through 11. Just before each installment, the program announcer would launch off into some diatribe about how psychics were really helpful in police investigations. She went on to blame the media for suppressing this "fact".

The wierd part was that it didn't seem to have anything to do with the actual programming. It was Court-TV's usual run of true-life crime stories, with no hint of psychic involvment.

Anyone know what gives? Is Sylvia Brown now sponsoring Court-TV?

I read recently that police do follow up on psychic claims because someone who knows something but doesn't want to get involved will often use the psychic approach to communicate what they know.

Also found this site, Police use of psychics

For more than eight years, I have researched this topic vigorously, actively seeking every bit of information available. I have collected volumes of news clippings, many hours of videotape, books, case histories and research statistics, and I have yet to find any hard evidence that any psychic has ever helped the police solve a crime.
