And it doesn't make any sense. At all. And it never will, no matter how hard dishonest apologists like yourself try to claim it does.
Yeah only about 10,000 people a day are saved because of it, and most of them wonder how blind and stupid they were not to see the wisdom of it sooner. Meanwhile 10 people turn away from it. But the former are all morons compared to the holy and omniscient Daggah who knows everybody's motives.

When you learn that people can disagree with you in good conscience Daggah, you will stop calling them dishonest as you have so often called me. There is justice even here, and I have no doubt you will be judged by your own tendentious rules and judgements. I have never seen it fail, though you may escape for a time.

Apparently not, to do all the things I have listed. As for the blood issue, ask a Jewish scholar or Jewish friend if you have the nerve, which I doubt. You have a habit of working as part of an inquisition as I recall. I'm sure you are much more respectful to Jews, even though they were heavy into blood. Or do you consider them all dishonest as well?

My point is to have you tell me where the sin came from that Jesus died to pay for. This sin was said to originate with Adam & Eve,but now you say the A&E account isn`t literal.
I already said I was making a joke, which I admitted was too dry for some. But now you are getting ridiculous. You have to be one of the most pedantic people I've ever met Fenton. Really. Get off it. I think you are just asking questions so you can find something to bitch about.

(And avoid answering mine)

Radorth, the problem appears to be that:
God declared what should be sin.
God decided who will be punsihed and how.
God decided what scapegoat is required to redeem people from sin HE declared they committed.

If the argument is that since God is creator and omnipotent, he gets to decide everything,
Pretty much yeah.

then he is really like a Mafia Don, no?
I never heard of a Mafia Don dying for my sins. You know one? In fact in all of history, I never heard of another person who died to bear my sins. Those NT writers were clever, eh? Funny they died so poor and were so ill-treated for talking such nonsense. It makes you wonder if there's a devil.

It's a little sad how many "rational" and supposedly "honest" people here will say one day that the NT does not follow from the Old, and the the next day that the Christians just copied stuff out of the Old to give the appearance of congruency.

Which is your favorite argument Daggah? Or do you just switch back and forth?

Thank you for your post Scombrid, an attempt to raise the bar here I hope.

No, you will not be "smitten." But you will miss out on on the many blessings I have gotten from going to certain churches.

Has the Holy Spook been keeping you up at night again, O Radorth?

I ask this because there is no contradiction; that it is completely possible to not be derived from the OT and to have a manufactured OT justification at the same time. Note: a manufactured one.

Well, the church officials do vote on which books to include in the bible, don't they? Surely you're aware of that.

God didn't either - he 'loaned' his son to himself for 2 days, then repaid the 'debt' to his son via the resurrection. God the cruel father couldn't be fucked sacrificing himself, so he created his own son (via the Rape of Mary) to do all that dirty work for him.

Gotcha...

So, if GOD decided to create the Bible as a great big joke on us, and won't be bothered to uphold any of it, you'd have no problem with it.

Since "God-Justice", as has already been acknowledged several times by you, bears NO relation whatsoever to "Justice" as defined by humans, it seems pretty clear that GOD can't be held to human standards of decency or morality - so exactly WHAT is it that you rest your hopes on?

Oh, I forgot - you obey the rule of the jungle - them who have the power make all the rules, and you're stuck with it.

Some moral God you have there Radorth.

Enjoy him, since you've already acknowledged TWICE now to me that you can't possibly trust anything that he says to you, since HE makes all the rules - and can obviously abrogate them any time he feels like.

Thanks, but I'll take my secular humanism any day of the week over your shoddy "Might Makes Right" moral code. At least MY moral code has a basis in HUMAN definitions of "justice", "right", and "honesty"

Your moral code, by YOUR OWN ADMISSION, can't say the same.

Cheers,

Apparently, no one did. He just took it to himself that we need saving. Very much like the way Bush thinks Iraq needs saving.

Prove it. This requires you to prove - WITHOUT scripture:

1) There's a god
2) He's declared we need salvation
3) The method described in the Bible is the path to that salvation

Otherwise this is just repeating baseless assertions.

This paragraph is also just a red herring - no attempt was made to argue the point I made: that the whole salvation scheme is non-sensical. As usual, Radorth tap-dances around the argument.

I call you dishonest because you ARE dishonest, not because you disagree with me. I disagree with plenty of people here. You're the only one whose integrity I constantly challenge.

You're a weasel, Radorth.

I am utterly baffled at how you think you're actually making a point here.
