Your post is now entirely irrelevant. And you managed to do it yourself! Thank you for saving us the trouble. Please, apply a bit of reasoning using your most recent post to your first post--it can't be too hard.

<a href="http://www.skepdic.com/kirlian.html" target="_blank">http://www.skepdic.com/kirlian.html</a>
<a href="http://www.csicop.org/si/2000-05/i-files.html" target="_blank">http://www.csicop.org/si/2000-05/i-files.html</a> My personal experience with this pseudoscience: At the Ontario Science Centre near where I live they have a rather large version of one of those plasma discharge spheres. It's large enough that the back of the sphere can easily be seen. If one's hands/fingertips are placed there, their "kirlian aura" can be seen. However, I was able to get a "kirlian aura" off of a watch, keys, coins and other non-living material, even when I wasn't touching them. According to the (undemonstrated) premise of the aura being generated by living things, this shouldn't happen. So, you're asking us to question evolution's "chance" generation of something that probably isn't even real at all? This seems less of a valid question than that of a creationist who at least sticks to demonstrably real qualities of human beings (ie intelligence) as something that it doesn't seem obvious needs no designer. |

You--Thiaoouba, member number 1983, originator of the thread <a href="http://iidb.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=58&t=001203&p=" target="_blank">"Plenty of evidence for a 'designed evolutionary process'"</a>. <a href="http://iidb.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=58&t=001203&p=2" target="_blank">Here's a link to page two.</a> Scroll all the way down, to my only post on that page. It's the second to last post, sandwiched between one of your posts (that's Thiaoouba, Member #1983) and a post by Stephen TB (the last post on the page). Are you really so blind, or are you purposefully avoiding any meaningful criticism on your cult manual? --W@L |

I don't see the big deal about an aura. Humans (and all organisms) give off radiation. We also probably have some sort of electromagnetic field (a very weak one) because our bodies are full of electric impulses.

The kirilian aura is a byproduct of the high votlages used in the process interacting with moisture.
In other words, it's an artifact of the method, not supernatural human powers. |

Ummm... so what was the question again? If there is nothing paranormal about the aura (assuming it exists in the first place, which is somewhat in doubt) then why does it pose any more difficulty to evolutionary theory than the carbon dioxide we exhale, or the stink that we emit after going without bathing for several days? |

Thiaaoouba's magic web site has vanished!
Perhaps his aura ran out? (edited to add: whoops, it's back!) [ August 15, 2002: Message edited by: Bibliophile ]</p> |
