Just saw on CNN, they had a "technology analyst" saying that because there was a note saying "I am God" at one of the scenes, it's obvious that the Maryland sniper was playing a violent shooting game that had a "God mode" code. The anchor even asked, as if he were serious, "Is there any way to tell who's buying these games, or playing them?"

It would be funny if it wasn't so scary.

Guess it's time for me to buy a rifle and turn into an AWP whore. I had no idea my CS playing would turn me into a psychotic killer. By the way, did this tech. analyst have a psychology degree? If not, his assesment is meaningless.

Since we don't have a culprit in hand, we have to blame just about everything else. MSNBC, for example, has decided to blame the little-seen Alec Baldwin movie <a href="http://www.msnbc.com/news/819730.asp?0dm=C15OL" target="_blank">Malice</a>.

Besides, wouldn't a gamer have signed the tarot card "I == GOD" or something?

CNN is absolutely right.

Jekyll and I finally got a Nintendo - you know, the OLD Nintendo, with Duck Hunt and Mario Brothers. The little orange gun fascinated me, and I spent many hours shooting those little electronic ducks...until one day, I pointed that little orange gun at Jekyll's head and said "bang."

Fantastic. The next thing to go will be Super Soakers - they'll either be blamed for their encouragement of violent behaviour or their encouragement of "let's see who can shoot the farthest" contests.

Off to Misc Disc...
