Default Unedited, raw creationist logic.

Quote:
From this idea {Greek philosophy} stem the materialistic philosophers who believed in the same line of thought as that of the Quantum Theory. They believed that throughout nature there exists a continuity from the inorganic to the organic where you go from one to the other without any abrupt breaks. This same concept was applied to chemical evolution in saying that there are no breaks between things that are dead to the things that are living.

Science today do not believe this, however, many continue to insist that this was the case in the evolution of a primordial soup into the first primitive organisms and unto man - in that there are gradual steps from simple life forms to complex ones. This idea however is not true as those who are aware of the quantum theory, know that one organism changes into another in leaps and bounds or what are known as quantum leaps. The idea of gradual steps, however continue to be taught despite the obvious. Because of this belief in the continuity of matter it is reasoned that matter continually combines and decombines and eventually, if given enough time, will produce everything that matter is capable of producing. So in essence the reason for not believing in a designer is that matter is believed to produce everything possible if left by itself long enough.

The moderation at Defending the Faith board is moderate. As is so often the case, without protection the creationists all run away. Even on "their" BB.

Wow, the dumb is strong in that one. I especially like how he's informing us that scientists now know from "quantum theory" that organisms change in what are known as "quantum leaps." Just what the quanta are in this case and why they're leaping no one knows, but rest assured, the process is quantized and leaping, damnit! I'd just love for someone to call him on the physics aspect of this...it's my expectation that all of his knowledge of quantum physics comes from that old TV show "Quantum Leap" (you know, that one with Scott Bakula?).

People who use the term "quantum leap" think it means a huge jump. So presumably they think Quantum Theory is all about things whizzing around on pogo sticks.

I just wanted to point out that you're title is begging the question; I'd like to see proof of "creationist logic"....

"Creationist logic," is a contradiction of terms, Meat.

It is amazing to me the fragil straws they'll grasp to keep their argument afloat. And when that straw becomes waterlogged, they'll either swim away or attack the messenger. I dunno. You can lead a dolt to truth, but you can't make him think.

Gosh, WinAce, that is a cool graphic.

Well, logic is enough of a problem that there are still classes on it at University. There are days when logic fails me (or I it?).
