I'm starting a new religion
I just figured it out. THERE IS A GOD. Not the all-knowing guy sitting somewhere judging us. Actually, the closest thing humanity has to a all-seeing, immortal higher power is an inanimate object--the sun.
That's right, the Ancient Egyptians had it right all along--the sun is God. The Sun. The Sun. The Sun. The Sun. The Sun. :notworthy Please, please feel free to poke holes in my hypothesis. 1. Without the sun, there would be no life. 2. If the sun "went away" all life would end. A bit simplistic I'll admit. But think of the money in starting a religion. Here's my game plan (rough draft) 1. Anyone can join The Church of the Sun (or Church of Ra??? whcich one sounds better?) All one has to do to join is: a. donate their first born daughter to the cause. (They'll be educated in the finest "Ra" schools and then sent out as missionaries.) b: A 15% tithe sounds fair. c: All disciples must wake before dawn to worship the sun as it rises. They must go to sleep immediately after the sun sets for the night. When God sleeps, we will all sleep! When it rains, snows, etc., I will declare the entire day one of prayer so we can coax the Sun to come back to us, as bad weather is punishment for our wrong doings. d: Manatory candy bar sales (you all saw that coming) e: None of these rules apply to me or my immediate circle of followers. (My husband, MzNeko, etc...) If you are interested in joining, let me know. Ohhh, I need to design a letterhead. |

Check out White Wolf's RPG Exalted. The Unconquered Sun is the chief diety depicted. I'm more partial to worshipping Luna since I can't manage getting up early enough to see the sun rise.

Are you plagerizing the original Ra worship, founded by my best friend in middle school? Infidels!
The original worship involves also: 1. That one creates a poem in honor of Ra every week. 2. That we must end all our documents with the eye symbol. 3. That one speak about the great Ra at every recess period. 4. That one must have a way of life glorifying melancholia, madness, and art. 5. That one must study hard about every ancient civilizations...and be obliged to imagine the ancient ways of life. Along with 500 or more commandments. |

Dear Eudaimonist,
Is it an apologetics site? The other links of the same site had me very suspicious about their claims. |
