Poverty causes problems of course, but this does make sense. I wonder at how much illiteracy contributes - people who can't read the Koran for themselves rely on others to interpret for them.
One error though: Geraldine Brooks is mentioned, and she's not American, but Australian. So I guess he didn't read the whole book that he quoted from (Nine Parts of Desire). |

Good article, I'll keep it for future ideas. Indeed the Islamic world needs help from the West in undergoing the necessary process of Godisdeadization (ie secularism). The Muslims are far back in this area in that they still believe their god is for real.
