Question about Jehova's Witnesses and the Cross
A few of my relatives are members of the JWs and from time to time I get the opportunity (humor me please...) to read a few of their tracts Awake and The Watchtower.
I don't think that I have ever seen the cross symbol in any of the pamphlets. A few days ago I was looking through an article and there was a depiction of Jesus tied to a pole without the vertical bar of the cross. So does the JWers believe that there was no cruxifiction because, simply, no crosses were used for that purpose? Instead a simple pole was used What is the reasoning behind all this? Scriptural support ? Bloop |

I don't know. I have noticed that too, though.

I was talking to a JW and they said that displaying a cross is like displaying a murder weapon. Plus they think it was more likely a stake or even a tree than a cross.
