Unhappy Religious dispute leads to murder in Jersey City

Excerpt from today's New York Post:

Quote:

Two small boys made a grisly discovery in their Jersey City home yesterday - their mom, pregnant aunt and grandmother savagely stabbed to death in a domestic dispute, according to police, that was fueled by what kin called a religious feud between the aunt and her husband.

On a front window in plain view of the street, one of the desperate victims left a smudged handprint of blood.

Andrew Yassin, 5, and his brother, Christopher, 2, woke up at about 7 a.m. and found the bloodied bodies of mom Sharon Yassin, 30; aunt Marlyn Hassan, 28, who was six months pregnant with twins; and maternal grandmother, Bernadette Seajatan, 49.

Choked with emotion, Baldeo said Alim demanded that Marlyn convert to Islam - and that "he got crazy over the last few months" over the issue of faith.

"She didn't want to become a practicing Muslim," said Baldeo, an NJ Transit bus driver.

"My daughter was very tired and she was pregnant and she wouldn't pray five times a day [to Allah]. He [was really] mad over that."
