Post How is the US Constitution a result of "Christian principles"?

The subject says it all.
(btw, this post was set up especially for Radorth, so let's let him answer first, m'kay?)

Give the guy a chance. It looks as though he's not been on the boards since this morning.

Wink

Something tells me it might be in Radorth's best interest to avoid Buffman.

I remember compiling a kickass post in which I traced certain obscure Constitutional principles to OT and NT citations. Or maybe contradictory verses. I don't remember if it was even on this board. But it was kickass.

Don't make me dig it up.

No taker here. I've long thought that was Bartonesque and [Peter] Marshallian drivel, part of the argument being that some of the principles are derived from the Bible through Montesquieu except that Montesquieu doesn't claim they came from the Bible. Not to say that there wasn't Christian and religious inspiration in the Founding but even that would be an extremely tough sell as a primary source. I differ on a lot, even about the Founding, but, though I'm probably not in your corner, I'm at least not in the opposite corner on the question posed.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the main event, the "Clash of the Historians!" In this corner, well-known for his rock-solid integrity, honesty, and knowledge, Buffman! And in this corner, the newcomer Radorth! Will Buffman's knowledge and love of true history be enough? Or will Radorth be able to sneak in enough low blows (cough lies cough) to decimate Buffman? You may now place your bets!"

I've got my money on Buffman. Call me idealistic. Call me naive. But I still think honesty can win out against dishonesty in this fight.
