Default Evolution Simulation

Firstly, hi - been lurking for a while

Secondly, while this won't exactly count as evidence for anything, I found it interesting...

Default Very Nice Site

It reinforces concepts that help us understand physical evolution in the real world. We are attempting to digitalise Alzheimer Disease models integrating the 4 new genes and the sequence to amyloid precursor and amyloid that seem to be the major cause of the disease.

Understanding Evolution despite the opposition of creationists, is a great benefit for disease research. It is helping us make great strides in the understanding of these disease processes which occur on a genetic and mutational basis. I only wish Creationists would understand the significance of scientific method is so necessary that it needs to be in school classes not obsolete mythology that benefits nobody but serves to stoke hate.

It also can be used to argue against The inteligent design theory of "irreducible complexity" that only an inteligent designer can create Irreducible complex things.

The simulations shows how things that are irreducible complex can come about from evolution.

A moments thought could have told you the same thing, of course...

Oh, I don't know about that "... of course..." bit. I have the impression that Dembski and crowd have given this some thought, and were not all compromised from the start. Further, were it so self evident, it would be much easier to counter.

Anyway, thanks "The_Unknown_Banana" for the link, and welcome to the board.

You will find the thread titled "A-life and the evolution of "complex functions" interesting:

Avida is available from here. I played with it about a year ago. It's damn interesting, atleast for a computer geek like me.
