On Religion vs Spirituality
This is probably going to serve the agnostic or theist patrons best. I found this via the web and wanted the Board's feedback.
http://www.spiritualmidwifery.com/ar...mber1999.shtml I couldn't find anything better to compare and contrast the two ideologies. If anyone has any similar links dealing with the two concepts, please state them. Invictus |

I got negative vibes from the "author unknown" opening, just don't like "author unknown" appeals.
When Richard Jefferies wrote this I think he was being spiritual as opposed to religious: Quote:

Sometimes soul and spirit are used interchangeably, and I agree with the article in its stating that religion can act as an introduction to spirituality. But it can also be its undoing. joe |

some bumper stickers come to mind;
“Religion, the only thing keeping you from God.” “We are not humans having spiritual experiences, we are spiritual beings having human experiences.” I think of how religion probably started with spirituality, shamanistic trances and ‘herb’ induced altered states of mind. Religion is politics & power, life was hard in those days, the smart folks who could milk religion for their own benefit kept all the cool drugs to themselves, made themselves priests, convinced people how important they were and got them to build temples, bring them food & sex. They didn’t have to do anything productive, they got free food and shelter. Not to mention drugs and sex. Spirituality seems like fun, religion a scam. |
