Hello, I am a new poster.
It is good to be here at the secular web. I am a Christian who will not be posting that often. I will only be posting when I have a few questions for atheists. The reason for this is because we have a religion class in my school and my teacher always talks about miracles so I like to hear what the atheists have to say about them, and then I tell my teacher to try and spark a debate. It's pretty fun.
Well, in this video we were watching, it mentioned a miracle today about St. Celia. It said that her body was incorrupt when they opened the coffin 400 years later and one of her fingers on one hand was pointed in the air like the number one, which means one God. Her other hand had 3 fingers pointing up which meant, Father, Son, Holy Ghost. I was just curious as to what you thought about this. According to me, even though I am a Christian, it could be a big coincidence or the way they buried her, but I'm not totally sure. Thank you very much. Rod |

This board has a great archive of messages to give you litereally hours of reading on the debate of miracles alone. All you have to do is search for it.
As far as the 'miracle' you describe, I guess it comes down to faith since you obviously cannot see or test the validity of what this miracle claims. Like many other facets of your religion, you'll just have to take someone's word for it. |

Any proof that this actually happened beyond just being a church story (legend)?

You can visit her body somewhere in the world. I will search for it online.

I see...
So, she was holding up one finger to mean one god and then three fingers to mean that one god is actually three gods in one god to make four gods that are ultimately one god, blah, blah, blah, insert unintelligible, illogical constructs designed to instill cognitive dissonance for the purposes of brainwasing here... Did you see this body or just hear about it? |

No, I didn't actually see the body but I believe it. Just like you believe in new discoveries in evolution even before you see them. |

Half-Life,
The problem with your account of the so-called "miracle" is that you have not proven anything about it. It is not an actual "miracle"--that is, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the supernatural--until you prove that the events that you have described could not have had a natural cause. Note that proving that said events have no known natural cause is not anywhere near a proof that said events have no natural cause. Sincerely, Goliath |
