Hot dang! Progress!
We here at Clemson University just got our Cultural and Religious Diversity calander... supposedly it's the calander that lists all the religious and national holidays observed by some portion or another of the student body, but in previous years the most 'diverse' it's gotten has been by including Eastern Orthodox holidays.
Well, this year, it includes all the standard Jewish and Christian holidays, but now it also has Islamic, Buddist, Hindu, Baha'i, and even Wiccan! For South Carolina, I call that progress. Now all we need is some Atheists to mae up some holidays and we'll see if we can get those stuc on next year's calander. |

The Revolutionary war isn't religion yet Independence day is a holiday. However, since atheism is lack of god-belief and nothing else.... pretty hard to have a holiday.

Celebrate freethinkers birthdays.
Thomas Paine and Robert Ingersoll would be good ones to start out with. If the Catholics can have a saint for everyday (probably 100 by the time the current pope gets done) why can't we celebrate a different freethinker birthday every day? cheers, Michael |

Well I think it is an absolute disgrace that the Invisible Pink Unicorn doesn't have at least five annual holidays when humankind can contemplate her ineffable pinkness and the mysteriousness of her invisibility.

Thank you for that guidance.
I am but a poor, ignorant novice - an empty vessel waiting to be filled with the arcane truths about how Pinkness and Invisibility come together in the non-being of her mystical Horniness. |
