Offa; Tyre is a location within the boundaries of Judea. Regardless of who the leader of this location was, he was referred to as king Hiram. Tyre and Sidon were probably Sodom and Gomorrah, two pithy little locations near to the Dead Sea. The URL with Steven Carr is another example of fundie fodder.

C'mon!! Tyre and Sidon were/are on the Med. Sea Coast (ie in today's Lebanon). They were not in "Judea". I can see not knowing, but why make up stuff?????

Well, the prophets Ezekiel and Isaiah state that Nebuchadnezzar was going to destroy it, and guess what: it didn't happen!

It will be a little while for I have to find my concordance. It's amazing how you forget all this stuff when you don't believe it anymore.

It did not take as long as I thought. It is in Isaiah Chapter 23. I mistakenly thought it mentioned Nebuchadnezzer but it does mention specifically that the Chaldeans were the ones to destroy the city, not some later Macedonian army.
This chapter in Isaiah, especially verse 13 on, is a classic example of how different translations can take an ancient text and make it say different things. Get an KJV, NIV, NRSV, RSV, and NAS and compare the chapter especially verse 13 through 17. I think you will see what I mean. These translators claim to be "experts" and I am not knocking anyone's education, but you would think that they would not have such a wide divergence of opinions regarding translating if they knew as much about the ancient languages as they profess to.
