Sorry monkenstick, I think my heartless insensitive comments in the first few posts in this thread have blown your chances of getting a reply.

monkenstick: I have placed your sequences, with painfully (for me, I'm an amateur at this) crafted explanations, on three different boards along with requests for non-evolutionary explanations for them. I have, so far, one response from a creationist, and it was a one-line attempt at humor. I'm totally unsurprised, but just a tad puzzled - why do the silly bastards even try to "debate" at all? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I'll bump this, but I also doubt Vander will address it. Way over his head.

Thumbs up

That is an excellent post, and should probably be archived.

Monken,

OK, I'll bite.

The first order of business is to make this more than a hypothetical discussion:

With the confidence you exhibit, I presume that you have several independent corroborating studies which support your presentation.

Please provide definitive references.

While you are at it, you'd better make sure you can corroborate THEM, as well.

Vander, If you think this 'corroboration' thing you've hit on is a big deal, think again. These studies we are citing are not strange obscure little one-off papers, they demonstrate the generally held consencus of thousands of biologists.

Undisputed: that human chromosome 23 is the product of a fusion event.

Undisputed: that humans share 98% of their genes with Chimps.

We can certainly find corroborating studies for these, but where will it end? At 2 verified papers? 3 papers? just where have you set your standard for corroboration?
