Sikhs and Bahaiis are post-Islamic muslims. They are not Islamic muslims but are inspired by the Qur'an which is the Essence of Islam.

I hope that edict was not passed by a Muslim because ....Muslims knew that the Earth was round before other peoples.

What exactly is that supposed to imply? If Science finds a result that contradict Islam, which side will a Muslim take? If he does not support Science in that, he is not pro-Science.

Then how come all your arguments for it sound like they are composed for a Medieval peasant audience?

Default Flat earth?

'To the people who are convinced that the Qu'Ran says the earth is round'

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Ibn Bazz who was the late Mufti of Saudia Arabia wrote a treatise on this very subject. Before I continue I wish to make a point 'Sheikh' Abdul Aziz Ibn Bazz was the late Mufti of Saudia Arabia. This implies that the man was of relatively high authority, having a supreme position of giving Fatawa. In his treatise he reported that the correct view on the shape of the earth was that it was flat and disc shaped. He goes on to explain that the sun and moon travel around the disk shaped earth, following each other. If one reads Qu'Ran and Hadith one can clearly see how he came to this conclusion. In addition he added 'anyone who disagrees with the belief that the earth is flat has committed kufr and should be punished'. Now we all could probably imagine that the late Sheikh didn't just come up with this opinion all on his own now, could we!

Yes, sure they did. They also knew how to build an atomic bomb, they fully understood quantam physics, and they also invented the first microprocessor in 1000 A.D. You just have to loosely interpret the Koran right? Allah is the one true phony. (Well, besides the christian god and .... well, so Allah isn't the only one)

Actually the Bible said this 2000 years before the Quran.

From the Koran:

18:86: Till, when he (the traveler Zul-qarnain) reached the setting-place of the Sun, he found it going down into a muddy spring…

18:90: Till, when he reached the rising-place of the Sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter from it.

Where are these locations?

A good place to look for more.

No, the bible said the earth was flat. It also states the earth is the center of the universe. Wait, you loosely interpret it into saying the earth is round and it is all symbolic right?
